(Move down to see further photographs)

French Name : Vitesse
Vitesse. Forward leaning nude mascot in blue/white strong opalescent glass by René Lalique. Moulded Signature R. Lalique and France in relief immediately above base. This is probably the very finest example available in the world. The blue opalescence is especially deep, the detail is superb, and this mascot is very rare indeed, with only a few surviving examples in this condition remaining. This fabulous design is considered by most to be the most sensuous and beautiful creation of his range of the 29 mascots made, and is especially striking to be found with such a remarkable depth of opalescence.
First Introduced : 17th September 1929       Catalogue No. : 1160       Dimension : 185mm high.
Condition : Superb totally correct and original c.1929 condition without chips or grinding. Absolutely outstanding detail. Usually the feet, toes or base have suffered some chips and/or grinding. All features are in absolutely pristine condition on this magnificent example.
