Peacocks Head - This fabulous piece is the ULTIMATE deep electric blue/turquoise Peacocks Head glass car mascot created by René Lalique in 1928. Signed with impressed intaglio 'R.LALIQUE' to the side of the neck, with also the relief moulded marking 'FRANCE' inside the mounting groove. The rarest of all Lalique mascots to find in this superb condition and colour. Designed by René Lalique at the height of his creative genius, in this most beautiful colour imaginable; this fabulous piece really comes alive and is a rare treasure to behold - a true 'Work of Art'. Very few René Lalique car mascots were made in coloured glass; in fact there were only 8 subjects that can be found in colour from the 30 different mascot types produced pre WWII.

Condition :
Really outstanding condition - as this piece is extremely fragile, the plumage is usually found with chips to the comb or completely broken off. This early 1928 example is absolutely pristine, the detail on the plumage is perfect, the base unmarked and the signatures are beautifully defined. The colour is deep and even, and the definition is faultless. It has never been restored or abused in any way, there are no internal or external imperfections, bubbles, etc., anywhere to mar its beauty.
