French Name : Tête De Coq
Cock's Head, clear and frosted glass mascot by René Lalique. Correct pre-war example with deeply moulded intaglio signature ‘Lalique, France’ on front of neck - one of the few pre-war mascots to carry this marking. This piece is a totally correct February 1928-1936 car mascot. Later on in 1937 a version was made of this mascot but as a pair of bookends, having the base encased in a metal mount.
First Introduced : 3rd February 1928       Catalogue No. : 1137       Dimension : 180mm high.
Condition : Excellent totally original condition. Usually the comb, beak and base have suffered from chips or grinding over the years. This piece is completely untouched, and in absolutely exceptional condition.
