1931 Lalique Chrysis Glass Car Mascot, Hood Ornament
(Move down to see further photographs)

French Name : Chrysis
Chrysis. Backward leaning nude mascot in beautiful satin finish glass by René Lalique. Stencilled R. LALIQUE signature under base. This is a very lovely c.1931-1939 example and is one of the most graceful and erotic of all Lalique's nude studies.

Note - This is sold as a car mascot/hood ornament, no.1183. In 1947 Lalique produced a paperweight version without the mounting groove on the base. This was marketed as no.1670, also made as a pair of bookends as no. 754.
