1919 Lalique Sepia Stained Glass Grand Nue Statuette
(Move down to see further photographs)
French Name : Grande Nue Socle Lierre
Beautiful gigantic nude female statuette with her floor length hair cascading around her body on a decorated integral glass base with a frieze of intaglio moulded ivy. This is in turn supported on its original 1919 ebonised hardwood base with Chinese motif pierced decoration. Made in satin and frosted glass, heightened with the original sepia stain.

This outstanding and extremely rare piece is usually found in white frosted glass, and only a few remain today with the original sepia staining to the hair giving the piece great definition and a Cire-Perdue (lost wax - unique one off casting process) like quality.

First Introduced : 1919       Catalogue No. : 836       Dimensions : 410mm high.
Condition : Absolutely superb and totally original condition, with excellent detail. The staining is especially well defined. The base glass mounting post is intact and superb under the wooden base - this base can be very easily removed for inspection. The marking on the glass base is R.Lalique engraved in script. Usual tiny scratches and honest age patination. It is extremely rare today to find an example of this fantastic creation and even more amazing to find one with its totally original wooden mounting base still intact and in really superb and totally unrestored and undamaged condition.
