1929 Lalique Glass Cote D'Azur Trophy

French Name : Cote D'Azur
Statuette Cote D'Azur Trophy. A nude leaning forward, giving a brilliant impression of speed and motion. Her left hand is caressing her hair, her right hand placed on her upper chest. Beautifully created in satin and clear glass. This trophy was loosely designed to follow the design of the famous Vitesse mascot. Etched R.Lalique France to side of the base.

Note - Another version of this trophy was used to commemorate the inaugural journey of the Cote d'Azur Pullman Express in 1929 using the commemoration inscription around the base. See Plate 87, Car Mascots, An Enthusiasts Guide, by Giuseppe Sirignano and David Sulzberger.
