Gigantic and impressive vase with four medallion plaques depicting four wild horses in high relief, each showing totally different poses. It is especially rare to find this vase with the original sepia stained highlights to the horses, giving them great definition and clarity. Stencilled R.Lalique France under base. First Introduced on 17th September 1942. Only made by René Lalique for three years until the outbreak of war. Discontinued in 1945. Very few survive today. Briefly continued again from 1947 until 1951 as number 2037, in whiter glass, with Lalique signature and without patination to the horse medallions.
